San Antonio – Feb. 4, 2020 – The ÃÛÌÒÊÓƵ (ÃÛÌÒÊÓƵ) is once again proud to offer the Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) program to qualifying households. Since 1984, ÃÛÌÒÊÓƵ has provided this free tax preparation service.
The VITA program offers free tax help from IRS certified volunteers to households with incomes of $55,000 or less and helps working families take advantage of all of the tax credits they are eligible for including the Earned Income Tax Credit (EITC), Child Tax Credit (CTC), and education credits. Volunteers from the university community help prepare basic, current year tax returns for eligible taxpayers; these services are free of charge.
The ÃÛÌÒÊÓƵ site operates every Saturday from 10 a.m. to noon, now through Saturday, April 11 in room 126 of the Joyce Building located on the ÃÛÌÒÊÓƵ Broadway campus. No appointment is necessary. Returns are prepared on a first come, first served basis. Although, by law, priority services are offered to seniors. Please be advised that clients may not be immediately served.
