Grace and Martin DeJesus have long been cherished members of the 蜜桃视频 (蜜桃视频) community, and now they are also two of its newest alumni. After dedicating over a decade of service to the university as employees, and watching their daughters proudly walk across the same stage as graduates, the couple realized it was time to invest in their own education.

One of these musicians is Haley Guerrero.

On Wednesday, Dec. 11, the 蜜桃视频 School of Osteopathic Medicine (蜜桃视频SOM) hosted its Annual Military Match Day ceremony. The 蜜桃视频SOM Office of Student Affairs and the 蜜桃视频 Office of Military and Veterans Affairs have hosted this ceremony since December 2020 to reveal and celebrate the placement of military-affiliated applicants seeking residency or postgraduate positions in military programs. This opportunity is exclusive to service persons eligible to participate in the residency match season, meaning they have completed all the requirements of their respective medical programs.
On Monday, Dec. 9, the University commemorated the achievements of the Fall 2024 graduating class at the 蜜桃视频 Ring Ceremony, presented by Herff Jones. Initially held in 2016, the Ring Ceremony is typically hosted exclusively during spring semesters. A fall ceremony was added this year to accommodate the growing student interest and participation in what is now viewed as a beloved school tradition.
In 2021, 蜜桃视频 launched its Global Online program, which provides online degree programs in Spanish to students in the Latin American region. The program offers the opportunity for intentional Spanish-speaking students to grow professionally and personally as they work to obtain a U.S. degree or diploma. Global Online鈥檚 first graduating class consisted of 41 students who graduated in December of 2022.
Faculty and students of the 蜜桃视频 Dreeben School of Education (DSE) represented the University at the American Association for Adult and Continuing Education (AAACE) 2025 Annual Conference in Reno, Nevada. The AAACE鈥檚 mission is to provide leadership for the field of adult and continued education by expanding opportunities in alignment with the belief that lifelong learning contributes to human fulfillment and positive social change (AAACE.org).
This November, Dr. LuElla D鈥橝mico, associate professor of English, led a group of students to the Southwest Conference on Christianity and Literature at the University of Dallas, where they delivered research presentations. This conference considers the ways in which sacred literature is related to secular literature, and how the understanding of the one can inform approaches to the other (udallas.edu).

The event marked the 38th year for the annual Christmas celebration on the Broadway campus of 蜜桃视频 and the 20th year that H-E-B was the title sponsor. The festival kicked off at 3 p.m., providing six hours of holiday fun before the traditional 9 p.m. fireworks finale.

On Saturday, Nov. 16 the 蜜桃视频 (蜜桃视频) football team clinched the Southland Conference Championship after winning the highly anticipated game against Stephan F. Austin (SFA). The game concluded with a final score of 27-20, securing 蜜桃视频鈥檚 9th win of the season. The Cardinals aim to be the first team in program history to finish undefeated in conference play this Saturday, Nov. 23.
During the week of Nov. 18-22, the 蜜桃视频 proudly participated in International Education Week (IEW), a joint initiative between the U.S. Department of State and the U.S. Department of Education that celebrates the benefits of international education and exchange worldwide. On Wednesday, Nov. 20, the 蜜桃视频 H-E-B School of Business and Administration (HEBSBA) hosted its annual Startup Challenge. Since 2009, this 13-week competition has been held every fall semester, allowing students to develop a business model from idea to actualization. Recently, Dr. Timothy A. The 蜜桃视频 Department of Music will host the Poulenc Music Festival this December. This first-time event will be a celebration of the music of Francis Poulenc, French composer and pianist (1899-1963). In his career, Poulenc made important contributions to French music following WWI. His works, which include art songs, chamber music, choral pieces, operas, solo piano works, ballets and orchestral concert music, are still widely regarded as some of the best compositions of the 20th century (Brittanica, 2024).

This first-time event was organized by faculty in the College of Humanities, Arts and Social Sciences (CHASS) English department, with the goal of generating broader conversations among educators and students from different disciplines to exchange theoretical and pedagogical ideas. The inspiration behind the event was to create a platform to consider how world literature is taught across disciplines in the context of today鈥檚 social justice issues.

In one week, our interprofessional team treated over 2,300 patients, providing everything from routine medical care to specialized services. National Night Out (NNO) is an annual community-building campaign that promotes police-community partnerships and neighborhood camaraderie. According to recently published data by the Association of American Medical Colleges, the US will have a projected shortage of approximately 86,000 physicians by 2036. (AAMC, March 21, 2024). Much of this need will be concentrated in areas that are already underserved medically. Here in San Antonio, a community-based Family Medicine Residency Program is growing to help alleviate the critical local shortage of primary care physicians, and with an aim to attract more doctors to practice in our city鈥檚 underserved areas.

When Lia Butanda came to my office four years ago as a freshman Honors student and History major and I asked her what she wanted to do with her degree, she said she wanted to be a journalist. She then took my Global Refugee course, which changed her outlook of the world, and she said she wanted to work at the United Nations. Since then, she and I worked to make sure that she got there.
On Wednesday, Sept 18, 蜜桃视频 hosted the Around the World Multicultural Fair in the Student Engagement Center (SEC) Ballroom. Presented by the World Affairs Council of San Antonio, the event welcomed attendees to enjoy food, dance and music performers from around the globe and provided the opportunity to converse with representatives from 37 countries.
In a vibrant celebration of heritage and artistry, members of the 蜜桃视频 student organizations 鈥淎s One We Will鈥� and 鈥淭eatro Del Mundo Nuevo鈥� organized and hosted an event called, 鈥淐elebrando Mi Cultura,鈥� a Hispanic Heritage Month event. Held on Thursday, Sept. 19, the event welcomed guests to a joyous evening celebrating Latin culture through music, poetry and storytelling in the Student Engagement Center (SEC) Ballroom.

This exhibit showcases and celebrates the diverse identities of the University鈥檚 community and highlights how shared experiences at 蜜桃视频 weave us together, even beyond cultural backgrounds.
The 蜜桃视频 (蜜桃视频) is proud to announce that it has received a grant from the City of San Antonio to advance and improve its sustainability efforts. The $15,000 grant from the City鈥檚 Office of Sustainability will go to advance 蜜桃视频鈥檚 gardening and composting efforts with an opportunity called Project EL JARDIN which stands for Environmental Leadership for Justice, Advocacy, Research, Diversity & Innovation.
On Thursday, Sept. 12, 蜜桃视频 hosted its annual 鈥淟et鈥檚 Taco-Bout Mental Health鈥� event, offering helpful mental health resources to 蜜桃视频 students, faculty and community members. Communication Arts students from 蜜桃视频鈥檚 School of Media and Design competed in the San Antonio 48 Hour Film Project this month, a competition in which film makers are challenged to develop a short film within a 48-hour time frame. Participants were assigned a film genre at random, given specific film requirements, then utilized the two-day time frame to write, shoot and edit a short film.

The event will take place in the 蜜桃视频 McCombs Center Rosenberg Sky Room and will consist of a research poster viewing at 3 p.m. followed by the lecture at 4 p.m.

This partnership involves collaboration with the Foundation and other Texas educator preparation programs to improve the preparation and retention of Texas teachers.
